A man accused of stabbing a woman and holding her against her will in Parlier was arrested Tuesday after police found him hiding in a shed, authorities said.
Jose Luis Cantor Veronica, 25, allegedly stabbed the woman on Monday in the 400 block of J Street. Veronica also held the woman against her will using a knife, Parlier police said in a news release.
The woman was kept overnight at the hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
Officers searched for Veronica through the night, but did not find him until Tuesday afternoon. Police heard he returned to the home on J Street, and with the help of a Reedley Police Department K9 and the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office Eagle One helicopter, found Veronica hiding in a shed in the 700 block of Merced Street.
He was arrested without incident and booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of domestic violence, false imprisonment with violence, assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm and probation violation. Veronica was already on felony probation in Fresno County for possession of a stolen vehicle, police said.
