He fired into a car and killed a victim. Judge gives him 124 years

Apfu See

A Tulare County judge on Tuesday sentenced Apfu See to 124 years to life in prison for a 2016 murder after a man was shot to death in a car at a gas station on Mineral King Avenue and Ben Maddox Way.

See, 28, was also convicted of attempted murder and shooting at an unoccupied vehicle. Each count was enhanced because See used a firearm in the crime. See, along with Edgar Cardenas, 20, were also convicted of arson because the getaway van was set on fire.

The incident took place Oct. 17, 2016. Video surveillance showed the deceased victim walking from the store, followed by See, who pulled a handgun and fired into a car, killing the victim and wounding another person. See jumped into the van, driven by Cardenas and fled. The van was later found on fire.

See was arrested days later. Cardenas fled to Mexico, but returned at the behest of police. He pleaded no contest to arson with the special allegation of street terrorism and accessory after the fact of being armed and received about nine years in prison.
