A woman accused of scamming undocumented residents out of more than $110,000 was arrested on Friday, according to Parlier police.

Maria Teresa Flores-Morales, 39, was arrested after police served a search warrant at a home near Jensen and Clovis avenues in southeast Fresno.

Flores-Morales told her victims she would help them purchase a house, and would show homes that were in pre-foreclosure, Parlier police said.

She allegedly showed people only the outside of the homes while the homes were still occupied by residents. Flores-Morales told victims she would buy the house for them if they would give her the down payment, police said.

After giving her the money, victims would never see Flores-Morales again, police said.

She was booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of grand theft and theft by false pretenses. Police say she has since bailed out and is awaiting her court date this month.

Parlier police are urging anyone who may have been a victim to contact detectives at 559-646-6600 ext. 131.
