South Valley man arrested after stealing airplane doors and seats, cops say

A Visalia man was arrested Thursday after allegedly stealing doors and seats from an airplane at the Porterville Airport.

Porterville police arrested Kevin Patrick Lang, 46, at his home on suspicion of grand theft and possession of stolen property.

Police say Lang stole two doors and two seats from an airplane on Nov. 18. Further investigation identified Lang as the suspect.

Lang gave several different accounts as to how he got the items, but ultimately admitted that they were stolen from the airport, police said.

The doors and seats were returned to the airplane’s owner.

The Porterville Airport is used as an air attack base for both the U.S. Force Services and Cal Fire, as well as general aviation and corporate aircraft.
