Mother charged with murder in drowning deaths of her 10-month-old twins

A Lindsay woman who was arrested last week in the drowning deaths of her 10-month old twins at a motel in Tulare is being charged with murder.

According to a felony complaint released Monday by the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office, Heather Murguia, is being charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of assault on a child causing death with the special circumstance that multiple murders were committed.

Murguia was arrested under the name Heather Langdon, but she has also used the names Heather Marie Langdon, Heather Marie Langdow and Heather Marie Langon, according to the district attorney’s office.

If convicted on all the counts, she faces a sentence of life without the possibility of parole. She would be eligible for the death penalty.

Murguia is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, when a court date will be set.
