A 17-year-old was shot while leaving a smoke shop in central Fresno on Sunday afternoon.
Lt. David Ramsey said officers received reports of a shooting on West Avenue just north of McKinley Avenue in front of Smoke Zone and More around 2 p.m.
Officers arrived but did not find a victim. Shell casings were found indicating a shooting.
Shortly after, officers received a report that a shooting victim had arrived at Community Regional Medical Center, possibly driven there by a family member.

Witnesses told officers that the teen was exiting the smoke shop when another man walked across the street and started to argue with him.
A fight broke out between the two, leading to the suspect shooting the victim in his right lower hip. The suspect fled on foot. Officers are still investigating and searching for a suspect. Businesses in the area are providing officers with surveillance of the incident.
