A man was carjacked and then kidnapped about 1 a.m. Saturday near Demaree Street and Riggin Avenue in Visalia, the Visalia Police Department said.
The suspect, Julio Lugo, 27, allegedly pretended to have a weapon and made the victim sit in the car’s passenger seat as he drove to the south side of Visalia and fled into a residence.
Lugo was identified as the suspect, officials said. He was arrested shortly before 3 a.m. and booked into the Tulare County Jail on suspicion of carjacking and kidnapping.
The victim was not injured.
