Fresno police are seeking information regarding a hit-and-run collision that cause major injuries to a pedestrian last week in the Tower District.
A 33-year-old Hispanic man was standing in the center of Belmont Avenue just west of Palm about 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 7. A silver hatchback was headed east on Belmont and struck the pedestrian, causing major injuries. The vehicle, possibly a two-door with tinted windows, made a sudden turn onto Palm Avenue and sped away from the scene, police said.
The vehicle’s left rear tail light wasn’t working at the time of the collision, which likely caused damage to the front end.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Fresno Police Detective Michael Buessing at 559-621-5066 or Detective Edward Jansen at 559-621-5052. Tipsters can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 559-498-STOP.
