A man driving a car at 3 a.m. Monday lost control and died when the car overturned, the California Highway Patrol said.
The 2003 Acura was traveling east on Highway 137 south of Farmersville at a high rate of speed, the CHP said.
For unknown reasons, he allowed the car to drift off the south edge of the road. He turned to the left and braked, causing the vehicle to lose traction and veer across both lanes, overturn in a field and hit a power pole.
The name of the driver, a 30-year-old resident of Exeter, was not released pending notification of family. Passenger Rigoberto Navarro, 31, of Exeter, was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia with moderate injuries.
