Fresno police search for suspect in bizarre carjacking

Fresno police are searching for a man they say stole a pickup at gunpoint on March 30 and crashed it into a mobile home during a bizarre fight with the vehicle’s owner.

Fresno police Sgt. Mark Hudson said that Keith Stump, a known Bulldog gang member, attempted to rob another man at gunpoint in the 3500 block of North Duke Avenue. The man ran back into his mobile home, and Stump got into the victim’s truck and drove off.

While Stump was leaving, the victim jumped into the bed of his truck and began punching Stump in the face through a window, Hudson said. Stump then lost control of the truck and crashed into a parked car, which was pushed into another mobile home. Stump then left the truck and ran away.

Stump is wanted for attempted armed robbery, carjacking and fleeing the scene of an accident. Anyone with information on his location is asked to call detective Donnie Dinnell at (559) 621-6334 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
