Man arrested for operating chop shop in Biola, deputies say

One man was arrested Wednesday after a weeklong search for two suspects who allegedly stole parts of a vehicle.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said Ke Moua, 25, and another suspect were seen by a witness who said two men stripped parts off a 1998 Honda Civic.

Deputies said the suspects loaded parts from the vehicle into a 1989 Toyota pickup in the area of Belmont and Grantland avenues, north of Kearney Park just west of Fresno.

Deputies saw two men drive away in the truck a week ago and the truck was abandoned nearby.

Deputies found car parts and documents from the Honda Civic, which was reported stolen.

The Fresno Help Eliminate Auto Theft (HEAT) multi-agency task force traced the truck to a home on C Street in Biola, where they found evidence of a chop shop.

The task force identified Moua as a suspect in multiple felonies.

Anyone with information on Moua or the case is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (559) 600-3111 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
