Fresno gang member arrested for allegedly selling marijuana near school

Police arrested a man on Wednesday who they say has been selling marijuana near a school in central Fresno.

Fresno police Sgt. Jaime Rios said that Mina Khamsombath, 20, faces multiple drug charges after police found 5 pounds of marijuana and 400 1-ounce bags of the drug at his home on East Madison Avenue near Fresno Street and Belmont Avenue. Each small bag would sell for $10, Rios said.

Police learned of the alleged drug sales after neighbors told the Fresno Police Narcotics Hotline a few weeks ago that people would visit the house at strange hours and stay for only a few minutes, Rios said. The callers were worried for the children attending nearby Tehipite Middle School.

Rios said that Khamsombath is a self-admitted member of the Tiny Rascal Gang.

Anyone wishing to report drug activity is asked to call the Fresno Police Narcotics Hotline at (559) 621-5900.
