Man sought in shooting near Fresno State

Police are searching for a man they say shot another man multiple times in January near Fresno State.

Fresno police Lt. Mark Salazar said that Brandon Aiyebo, 29, of Fresno, nearly killed the 26-year-old victim. Although the victim survived, police were unable to speak to him for almost a month due to his serious condition.

After interviewing the victim, Detective Luis Carrillo identified Aiyebo, who witnesses called a “wannabe gang member,” as the alleged shooter.

Salazar said the shooting happened because of an argument over a woman. The gun used has not been recovered.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
