Coalinga suspect hurls big steak knife at man, police say

A 21-year-old man was arrested in Coalinga after he allegedly threw a large steak knife at another man when an argument between the two escalated.

Police said the incident happened about 3:30 p.m. Thursday on the 300 block of Van Ness Avenue. The victim told police he visited the suspect at his home on the 200 block of Lincoln Street when the two began to argue. When the victim left the home, the suspect followed with knife in hand, police said.

The suspect, Taylor Boeck of Coalinga, then threw the knife at the victim in front of other witnesses, police said. The victim sustained a superficial injury.

Boeck was arrested later that day and the knife was recovered. Authorities were unsure of the relationship between the suspect and the victim.

Boeck was booked into Fresno County Jail on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
