Visalia police arrested one person for alleged DUI driving and issued 20 traffic citations between Friday night and early Saturday.
Throughout the operation — aimed at deterring driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs — Visalia police stopped 30 vehicles between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. Of those cited, two were penalized for driving without a license and one for driving on a suspended license. One vehicle was towed away. The person arrested for alleged DUI driving was not named.
Visalia police will conduct more operations aimed at stopping DUI driving. Funding for the program was provided by a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
