Three arrested in southwest Fresno marijuana raids

Authorities uprooted more than 1,100 marijuana plants from two southwest Fresno properties and arrested three suspects, disrupting a drug operation that’s been active for the past three years.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Narcotics Enforcement Team served search warrants at houses about two miles apart on Friday as part of a surveillance operation. When deputies arrived at the homes along the 4000 block of South East Avenue and 600 block of East Jefferson Avenue, they found and destroyed the plants, sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said. Authorities have found marijuana operations at both locations over the past three years, Botti said.

Arrested and booked into Fresno County Jail were Bouanhuenh Vanaphenh, 39, Bouaraphan Inthaphanya, 48, and Kou Ekvixaysack, 57. All three were arrested on felony charges of growing marijuana with intent to sell.
