Distracted drivers will be the focus and educational campaign in April by Fresno police, the state Office of Traffic Safety, and California Highway Patrol.
Two special enforcement days are scheduled for April 1 and April 15.
“No text, call or social media update is worth a crash,” Rhonda Craft, director of the traffic safety office, said in a statement. “With an average of less than a second to react to an urgent situation, drivers need to have all their attention on the roadway.”
The first week in April is also designated California Teen Safe Driving Week.
