Man arrested in Fresno after shooting into a vehicle, police say

One man was arrested Tuesday morning after police said he fired shots at people in a vehicle and struck their vehicle in southeast Fresno.

Police said Dioncio Ramirez pulled out a handgun and fired two rounds into the vehicle on 3832 E. Iowa Ave.

Police said the victims were involved in a verbal disturbance with Ramirez.

Police said they found Ramirez later that day at Third Street and Washington Avenue when he tried to get into a vehicle and drive away.

Police rammed the vehicle and took Ramirez into custody.

Police found a loaded 9mm handgun inside the vehicle, which they believe to be the same gun that was used in the shooting.

Ramirez was booked into Fresno County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into a vehicle and weapons possessions charges, police said.

Ramirez is also wanted in connection with several other shootings, police said.

The other shootings are still under investigation and no information will be provided, police said.
