An alleged Bulldog gang member was arrested Friday on suspicion of the March 5 nonfatal shooting of a 19-year-old man in northwest Fresno, the Fresno Police Department said.
When officers arrested James Villegas, 23, his 17-year-old brother showed up driving a car that was allegedly used in the shooting, police said. Officers found two loaded handguns in the vehicle and arrested the younger brother on weapons charges.
The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office filed charges Monday against Villegas for the shooting and possession of a firearm. Charges were also filed against Villegas’ brother for possession of the handguns.
Two more alleged Bulldog gang members, Mario Bobby Lucero, 33, and Richard Jesse Cruz, 34, are wanted on suspicion of conspiracy to commit the shooting.
Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Cruz or Lucero is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
