Fresno police arrested two men Tuesday for probation violations, including one wanted in Napa County.
Sgt. Steve Crawford wrapped up the case: Officer Nathan Carr stopped a car about 4 a.m. Tuesday for expired registration. Daniel Garcia, 32, admitted he was driving without a license. A search of the car turned up a loaded, 9 mm handgun under Garcia’s seat, and he was arrested for being a felon in possession of a gun, carrying a loaded gun in public and traffic violations. He posted bail just after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Later, a records check revealed that the passenger, Sean Allison, was wanted in Napa County on probation violation, and he was arrested at his Fresno residence.
Crawford said police actively pursue probationers who have guns because they are most likely to commit another crime. Police ask that anyone aware of a felon in possession of a weapon call the Fresno Police Department at (559) 621-7000 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP to remain anonymous.
