Five people were arrested in two separate incidents involving stolen Hondas located in Fresno’s Mayfair District early Monday, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said the first incident occurred about 1:15 a.m., when a deputy spotted a green Honda idling in an alley near the 3200 block of East McKinley Avenue. He put the car through a computer database and learned it was stolen. Anthony Garcia, 20, was arrested on vehicle theft charges. Yesenia Lopez, 22, was arrested for having outstanding drug-related warrants.
About 1:35 p.m. deputies spotted a second Honda at Normal Avenue and Sixth Street and discovered that it was also stolen. Gabriel Pulido, 30, Rebecca Stanley, 30, and James Vanderpool, 24, were booked on auto theft charges.
Of the five arrested, only Pulido, who was also wanted for violation of a domestic violence protective order, remains in custody.
