A man suspected of a 2012 murder in Fresno was arrested Saturday in Truckee, the Truckee Police Department said.
McKinley Calvin Williams, 33, is accused in the shooting death of Johnnie Massey, 28, of Fresno, on April 20, 2012, police said. Massey died at Community Regional Medical Center after he was found shot at 3:20 a.m. in a hotel parking lot on the 3000 block of North Parkway Drive in Fresno.
Williams—who also had an outstanding warrant for murder in Florida—was arrested after a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Donner Lake. Williams initially gave officers a false name, the Truckee Police Department said.
A search of Williams’ vehicle turned up over 100 credit cards, altered debit cards, prepaid cash cards and gift cards, and a small amount of marijuana, police said. A woman in the car with Williams, Karion Bickham, 23, was also arrested on several fraud-related charges.
Williams and Bickham may have been traveling through Truckee “to continue their fraudulent, multi-state shopping spree,” Truckee police said.
