Visalia police arrested two 16-year-old boys and a 15-year-old girl Wednesday after one the boys pulled a handgun on a security guard who was attempting to detain them on suspicion of shoplifting charges, Sgt. Paul Esquibel said.
The three were in a store in the 2100 block of South Mooney Boulevard when the guard saw them putting merchandise in a bag. As they walked out of the store, the guard ordered them to stop. Instead, the boy brandished the handgun and the guard retreated, police said.
Police spotted the boy a few minutes later in the 2100 block of South Divisadero Street and arrested him. The other two juveniles were arrested at Walnut and Central streets a few minutes later. The three face armed robbery, burglary and other charges.
