2 sentenced in store owner's kidnapping

Two more people have been sentenced to prison in connection with the armed kidnapping of a Tracy jewelry-store owner.

Parlier resident Justo Mata Bustos, 27, and Madera resident Fernando Espana Rubio, 21, were each sentenced to 14 years and 3 months in federal prison Thursday.

Earlier this month, co-defendant Diana Teran was sentenced to 10 years and 1 month in prison for the same crime. All were sentenced by U.S. District Judge Lawrence O'Neill.

The three had pleaded guilty to kidnapping. Bustos and Rubio also pleaded guilty to brandishing a firearm in connection with a crime of violence.

Prosecutors said the victim was lured to a motel in Manteca and taken captive at gunpoint as part of a plan to steal the jewelry store's inventory.
