Merced resident Richard Sanchez, 43, pleaded guilty Friday to two federal child pornography charges in U.S. District Court in Fresno.
Authorities said Sanchez was online in a Yahoo group when he responded to a posting related to the exchange of videos of young teens. After exchanging communications with an undercover law enforcement officer, Sanchez agreed to ship a videotape containing child pornography to Pennsylvania. The defendant then agreed to receive delivery of a DVD that he believed would contain child pornography.
Two minutes after delivery of the DVD, a search warrant was executed at Sanchez's residence, and the DVD was located in a DVD player in his bedroom.
Sanchez has agreed to a total prison term of 12 years and seven months, to be followed by 15 years of probation, authorities said.
