A 15-year-old boy who allegedly supplied the gun for a drug-deal robbery that ended in a homicide has been arrested, bringing to five the number facing homicide charges, Visalia police said Wednesday.
The boy, whose name was not released, had taken the gun from his home without anyone’s knowledge and gave it to the other suspects to use in the robbery, police said.
Police interviewed the boy Tuesday and then booked him into Tulare County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of conspiracy and homicide.
The victim has been identified as Terry Wade III, 19, of Visalia.
About 1:55 p.m. Sunday, police answered a call about a driver hitting a parked vehicle near Buena Vista Avenue and Zachary Street. While on the way, they learned that the driver had been shot.
When they arrived, police found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, where he died.
Police got a tip that a vehicle was seen leaving the area, stopped it nearby and detained three men and a male juvenile. They also found a gun.
Detectives said Wade was shot during a robbery in a drug-related transaction, police said.
Arrested were Noah Fox, 18, Jose Luis Cortez, 18, Kalvin Solis, 18, and a 17-year-old male juvenile. All were booked on suspicion of conspiracy, robbery and homicide.
