Coalinga Police Department released the identification of twoof the eight suspects arrested in a drug smuggling operation inside Coalinga State Hospital.
Police arrested former Coalinga Hospital employees David Anthony Jackson, 26, and Cathy Ann Brown, 54, on Oct. 7 on suspicion of drug trafficking and possession with intent to bring methamphetamine into a secured facility.
The hospital terminated Jackson’s and Brown’s employment early in the investigation, police said.
Officials arrested six other people Wednesday, four whom were patients in the hospital and two who were friends or family of the patients, Coalinga Police Chief Michael Salvador said.
Coalinga investigators conducted surveillance over the past six months to find out how meth was being smuggled into the facility. They plan to hand the case to the district attorney and urge that each subject be charged of drug trafficking and possession with intent to bring meth into a secured facility
