Clovis West senior Troy Sweeney led section representatives by shooting a par 72 to place 18th in a 124-player field at the Southern California Championships at Brookside Golf Club in Pasadena.
La Jolla's Ben Doyle won a playoff after finishing tied with La Jolla Country Day's Anthony Paolucci and Adolfo Camarillo's Johnny Ruiz with 68s.
Clovis West (391) and Centennial (412) finished seventh and ninth among 10 teams. Torrey Pines-San Diego won the team title with a 7-over par 367.
Torrey Pines, Servite-Anaheim (371) and Santa Margarita-Rancho Santa Margarita (374) will advance to the CIF State Championships next Wednesday at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach. In addition, the top six individuals outside of those teams also qualified out of the SoCal tournament. The individual qualifiers shot 70 or better.

Next best to Sweeney from the section were Lemoore's Cody Neal (73), section individual champion Michael Tolladay of Bullard (74) and Stockdale's Matt Deford (74).
