THE BUZZ

Hanford West takes the biggest tumble – from second to fifth – as the rankings return from a one-week sabbatical, in part because of a 3-2 loss to Frontier at the Clovis Easter Classic and in part because of the loss of third baseman and Georgia recruit Megan Sweet. A Tulare County Superior Court judge last week upheld a Central Section ruling that Sweet, who transferred from Frontier, was ineligible, forcing the Huskies to forfeit 20 games.

Stockdale remains No. 1, but it's a tenuous hold at best. Frontier, winner of the Clovis Easter Classic, is nipping at the heels of the defending Division I champion Mustangs after splitting Southwest Yosemite League games last week (Stockdale 1-0 on Wednesday, Frontier 3-2 on Friday). The Mustangs hold a 2-1 edge in the season series.
