No. 2 Hanford West, No. 3 Buchanan, No. 4 Clovis West and No. 6 Central all went 2-0 during the first day of the Buchanan Easter Classic. Briana Pontecorvo homered in Hanford West's 2-1 win over Bullard and Megan Sweet hit a grand slam in the Huskies' 10-0 win over Clovis East. Buchanan received a homer from Amani Proctor in a 7-3 win over Chowchilla and a three-hit shutout from Natalie Rendon in a 5-0 win over Lemoore. Amber Mills pitched Clovis West to a 3-1 win over Sanger and Sydney White pitched a one-hitter in an 8-0 win over Clovis North. Central got a five-hitter from Rachel Rodriguez in an 8-0 win over Clovis East and two RBIs from Roby Alvara in a 6-2 win over Redwood.
Kevin Magill was the winning pitcher, scored a run and knocked in a run as tournament host Fowler beat Dinuba 7-1 at the Fowler R.J. Hill Homes Easter Classic. The tournament also featured a three-hitter by Roman Rosales in Kingsburg's 8-0 win over Dos Palos.
Tulare Western won twice, beating East Bakersfield 6-2 behind Anthony Avila's seven-strikeout complete-game, and 13-5 over Exeter as Matt Cota earned the win and delivered two hits, at the Visalia/Tulare Invitational – being played at Tulare Western, Golden West and Redwood.
