James Brager struck out 11 in six innings while allowing only two hits as Madera defeated Sanger 4-1 in the County/Metro Athletic Conference.

Anders Nelson and Gabe Perez each homered, doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice as fifth-ranked Central beat No. 6 Clovis North 6-4 in the Tri-River Athletic Conference.

Reedley received a 4-for-4, 6-RBI effort from Nick Esquivel in a 15-6 North Yosemite League win over McLane.

NYL-leading Madera South received four RBIs from Jason Ibrahim in a 20-0 win over Roosevelt.

Ricky Hurt went 2 for 3 with an RBI in the first game then came back in the second with three hits and an RBI while striking out 10 in six innings on the mound to lead Firebaugh to a 2-0 and 6-1 doubleheader sweep of Coast Union.

Lorenzo Rodriguez went 3 for 3 and scored four runs and Krystan Reyes went 3 for 3 and scored twice as Mendota, top-ranked in Division VI, downed Orange Cove 13-3 in a nonleague game.


Megan Sweet homered and doubled to key No. 3 Hanford West's 13-hit attack in a 10-4 West Yosemite League-opening win over Redwood, which received a home run from Alexis Cervantes.
