Baseball and softball highlights March 11


Brandon Renwick drove in four runs and Kyle Martinez had three hits, three runs and two RBIs as Clovis North pounded Golden West 17-1at the Coca-Cola Classic.

Seth Moranda homered and scored twice, and pitcher Holden Berger got the win as Buchanan defeated Redwood 3-0 to advance to today's 3 p.m. championship against El Diamante at the Coca-Cola Classic at Clovis High.

Pitcher Zack Burt moved to 2-0 and Ray Reinke went 2 for 4 with two RBIs as Bullard blanked Tulare Western 10-0 at the Coca-Cola Classic.

Alex Catanesi had three hits and James Brager struck out six over four innings as Madera shut out Mt. Whitney 6-0 at the Coca-Cola Classic.

Deondre Howard had two hits, three runs and three stolen bases and David Greer picked up his first win with six strikeouts in six innings as Edison defeated Mission Oak 6-1 at the Coca-Cola Classic.

Clovis pitcher Jimmy Jurado (3-0) stayed perfect on the season, striking out 14 in a complete-game performance as the Cougars won 10-1 against Merced at the Coca-Cola Classic. Clovis' Taylor Tempel went 2 for 3 at the plate with three RBIs.

Isaiah Yates blasted two home runs as Clovis East defeated Beyer-Modesto 5-3 at the Coca-Cola Classic. Baron Bower also homered for the Timberwolves.

Winning pitcher John Hilty struck out 10 during a game called after five innings because of the mercy rule as Hoover defeated Fresno Christian 12-0 at the Central Classic.


Sara Pemberton's ninth-inning RBI double plated the go-ahead run in Woodlake's 7-3 nonleague victory over Selma.
