Basketball highlights from Feb. 11


Samantha Earl scored five points in a five-second span in the final minutes, as No. 5 Clovis rallied past No. 10 Buchanan 53-49 and improved to 7-1 in the TRAC. The Cougars' Brianna Watson scored 18 of her game-high 24 points in the second half, including making all 12 of her free throws.

Miyah Rollins had 14 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, and Aryana Williams added 12 points and seven rebounds as NYL-leading Hoover downed Roosevelt 68-36.

Sydnee Fipps scored 26 points as North Sequoia League co-leading Yosemite beat Washington 72-39. Sierra kept pace with the Badgers by beating Liberty-Madera Ranchos 66-13 behind Paige Brown (17 points) and Taylor Esquivel (15).

Devaughna Jenkins had 19 points and Clovis North outscored Central 15-6 in the fourth quarter to rally for a 56-53 Tri-River Athletic Conference win.


Anthony White scored all 17 of his points in Bullard's 35-point third quarter as the Knights, ranked third in the Central Section by The Bee, clinched at least a tie for the County/Metro Athletic Conference title with a 72-50 win over Sunnyside.

Ahmad Jones and Jesse Jimenez scored 16 points apiece to help Hoover clinch at least a tie for the North Yosemite League title with a 68-51 win over Roosevelt.

Will Nelson had 17 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks and three assists as Mt. Whitney handed Hanford West its first West Yosemite League loss 65-54. The Pioneers (9-1) trail the Huskies (10-1) by a half-game.

Cory Skerce scored 25 points and Yosemite outscored North Sequoia League-leading and D-IV No. 2-ranked Washington 15-8 in the fourth quarter for a 48-41 win.
