Powered by five individual champions, Clovis High cruised to the team title at the 47-team Zinkin Classic wrestling tournament on Saturday at Buchanan.
The three-time defending Central Section champion Cougars had Daniel Gaytan (125 pounds), Brady Bersano (145), Adrian Salas (171), Taylor Ferguson (215) and Nick Nevills (285) capture individual gold while accumulating 338.5 points to finish ahead of Clovis East (202), Orland (180), Central (133) and Buchanan (125).
The Clovis "B" varsity team finished ninth, led by 189-pound champion Dakota Gordon.
The Cougars' most impressive performance was by Nevills, a freshman who won his four matches by pin, including a fall in 4:34 of the final against Clovis North's Izaiah Duran.

Clovis East's Patrick Phaysamone was named the tournament's Champion of Champions after the No. 3 seed pinned his way through three matches to reach the 135-pound final, then defeated top-seeded Juan Salas of Clovis 9-4.
The Outstanding Lowerweight was Central's Adrian Campasano, who had three pins and a major decision en route to winning the 103-pound title.
Other local champions included Central's Javier Gasca (119) and Selma's Isiah Morfin (152).
Lemoore's Isaiah Martinez and Clovis West's Nikko Reyes each won titles to lead their teams to fifth- and 22nd-place finishes, respectively.
Martinez beat Reno's Joey Lavallee 5-2 in the 140-pound final, while Reyes topped Austin Gabel of Ponderosa-Shingle Springs 7-5 at 171.
Runner-up finishes went to Lemoore's Steven Woods (285) and Clovis West's Stevan Knoblauch (119). Other medalists included: Clovis North's Vince Rodriguez (third at 125) and Devin Poindexter (eighth at 152), Lemoore's Dillon Rocha (sixth at 125) and Jacob Pendleton (sixth at 171) and Clovis West's Brandon Rodriguez (seventh at 112).
