GIRLS VOLLEYBALL HIGHLIGHTS

Shannon Leary set them up (25 assists) and Lauren Meador knocked them down (17 kills) as Clovis West, The Bee's No. 1, beat Clovis North 25-18, 25-10, 25-18 to open Tri-River Athletic Conference play.

Jessica Jones had 13 kills as No. 7 Buchanan rallied from a 17-9 deficit in the fourth set to finish off a 28-26, 22-25, 25-15, 27-25 victory over No. 8 Central.

Amy Weststeyn did a little bit of everything (9 kills, 4 blocks, 3 aces) to help No. 5 Central Valley Christian top Kingsburg 25-13, 25-6, 25-12 in the Central Sequoia League.

Bonnie Paul's 15 kills sent Liberty-Madera Ranchos, No. 3 in D-IV, to a 25-8, 25-12, 25-15 North Sequoia League sweep of Washington.

Clovis East's Hannah Sodersten set the TRAC tournament record with a 6-under 66, while Clovis West took the team lead with a 415 at Madera Municipal after the first 18 of a 36-hole, two-day event that concludes Monday. Sodersten broke the record of 67 set in 2003 by Clovis West's Jennifer Shipley.
