Monica Munoz, Emily Broomfield and Jessica Brooks hit consecutive run-scoring singles in the third inning, and Christine Reynolds tripled and scored on an error in the fourth to send third-seeded Kings Christian to the school's first section softball title with a 4-3 victory over No. 1 Laton in D-VI. Shelbi Rose earned the win, striking out eight for the Crusaders.

BASEBALL

Ridgeview, a No. 13 seed making a repeat 163-mile trip to Oakhurst after the umpires didn't show for Thursday's regularly scheduled D-III game, received a three-run triple from Rolando Martinez in a six-run fourth, and a 4-for-4 performance from Antonio Muniz to upset the No. 5 Badgers 11-10. Garrett Yoder went 3 for 4 with three RBIs and Joe Doering and Branden Lundberg each had three hits as Yosemite matched the Wolf Pack's 15-hit attack.
