Highlights from May 7

Madera upset host Clovis West 7-5 in Tri-River Athletic Conference play Friday. That will move the Golden Eagles out of their Baseball America No. 1 ranking. With runners on second and third and one out in the top of the seventh, Madera's Anthony Mindt (two doubles two runs and two RBIs) doubled off the left-field wall for two RBIs. Zach Taylor (3-for-4, double, two runs, and an RBI) then singled Mindt home to cap Madera's scoring. Coyotes' pitcher James Brager had 12 strikeouts in his complete-game win. Clovis West's Mike Gilleland hit two homers and had three RBIs.

Reedley's Jose Rodriguez hit a two-run homer to tie it with no outs in the bottom of the eighth and Jonathan Rodriguez stole home with the bases loaded to give the Pirates a 10-9 win over CMAC foe Sanger.

Bullard coach Chad Thornhill was ejected in the sixth inning and his team responded with a five-run seventh that proved the difference in the Knights' 10-9 win over County/Metro Athletic Conference regular-season champ Clovis North. Bullard's Shelton Autry went 3 for 4 with three RBIs, a double and a triple. Clovis North's Chris Mariscal went 4 for 5 with two runs, an RBI, a double and a triple.

Chowchilla defeated Kerman 8-2 for the North Sequoia League lead. Tyler Cook pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts.
