High-profile football coaching changes

From the Tri-River Athletic Conference to County/Metro Athletic Conference and North Yosemite League, there's been a steady shuffle with the deck of football coaches since the end of the season.

CLOVIS WEST HIGH

In: Mike Parsons

Out: Coby Lindsey

Parsons, a state Small Schools champion at Modesto Christian, is the Golden Eagles' fifth coach in five years. Former interim coach Lindsey will assist.

SUNNYSIDE HIGH

In: Justin Garza

Out: Shannon Pulliam

Unusual transition here in that Pulliam coached the Wildcats in 2009 after having already announced he was heading up the mountain to take over Sierra in 2010. Garza leaves Reedley for the deeper talent pool at Sunnyside, which will shift from the NYL to CMAC.

MADERA HIGH

In: Scott McKinney

Out: Randy Blankenship

The Coyotes, who struggled in the TRAC -- even under a coaching icon in Blankenship -- should be better fit for the CMAC as 1985 Madera graduate McKinney takes over.
