Highlights from April 30


McLane's Anthony Hawkins threw a two-hitter, ripped two homers among his four hits and drove in four runs in an 18-0 rout of Roosevelt in the North Yosemite League.

Selma beat Coalinga 11-2 in the Central Sequoia League, as Michael Whitford pitched a two-hitter, striking out eight. He also hit a two-run homer and had four RBIs.


Katie Schafer's no-hitter with nine strikeouts highlighted Memorial's 7-0 NYL win against Roosevelt. Adele Faunleroy had four hits and Kathryn Monreal went 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Angela Fausone pitched a no-hitter and had three of Bullard's 15 hits in a 12-1 win over Reedley in the County/Metro Athletic Conference.

No. 4 Clovis edged Clovis East 1-0 in the Tri-River Athletic Conference when Megan Grant singled in Alissa Gutierrez in the bottom of the eighth. Dana Moritz pitched a two-hitter.

Division V No. 1-ranked Liberty-Madera Ranchos' Darienne Schmall hit two homers and drove in five to back Kayla Barber's one-hitter in a 10-0 win over Yosemite in the North Sequoia League.

Michelle Martinez struck out 10 and Stevie Underwood's RBI single in the sixth pushed across the go-ahead run in McLane's 4-3 win over Madera South that tied the teams for first place in the NYL.
