After consecutive postponements since Tuesday because of rain, the wait proved worthwhile for Bullard's Kyle Cantu as the junior catcher went 4 for 4 and drove in six runs to power Bullard past Edison 9-0 in the County/Metro Athletic Conference. Matt Meyer pitched a two-hitter with seven strikeouts and Trent Seib, a sophomore recently promoted from the junior varsity, went 3 for 3 with three runs as the Knights remained two games behind Clovis North nearing the halfway mark of the league schedule.

Tanner Mendonca matched Walthers' three-hitter and struck out eight for Mt. Whitney.

Eric Karch improved to 7-0 with a seven-hitter and nine strikeouts, handing Drew Merlo (9-1) his first loss of the season, as No. 1 Clovis West retained its one-game lead over Clovis East in the Tri-River Athletic Conference by defeating No. 3 Buchanan 4-1. The Golden Eagles scored all of their runs in the first inning on a single by Jake Alvarez, an RBI double by Karch, an RBI single by John Koretoff and a two-out, two-run single by Ryan Clark.
