Kayla Barber threw a six-hitter and went 3 for 3 with four RBIs as Liberty-Madera Ranchos shut out Mt. Whitney 9-0 in nonleague play.


Chris Mariscal threw his first career no-hitter -- and the first in program history -- as Clovis North opened Country/Metro Athletic Conference play by blanking Edison 3-0.

Justin Seaborn had four RBIs, including the go-ahead homer, and Travis McNiff tossed a complete game as Hoover beat Sanger 4-2 in the CMAC.

Woody Cash homered and Seth Moranda struck out five as Buchanan edged Madera 2-1 in a Tri-River Athletic Conference opener.

William Rosado struck out 11 in a complete game and went 2 for 3 with a homer and a double as Clovis East scored two late runs to defeat Clovis 2-1 in the TRAC.

Nick Palomino's bases-clearing double, followed by Anthony Valley's game-ending double, sparked Madera South's five-run seventh in an 8-7 North Yosemite League win over McLane.

Luis Olivera blasted two homers and collected five RBIs as Firebaugh pasted Riverdale 14-6 in nonleague.
