THE BUZZ

Section commissioner Jim Crichlow said he could make an eligibility ruling today on Melissa Sweat, who has transferred back to Stockdale after playing through early January for Liberty-Madera Ranchos. All that remains in question, Crichlow said, is if Sweat's entire family has moved back to Bakersfield. If so, she will play immediately one year after leading the Mustangs to the D-I title.

Yosemite set a state single-game record for successful 3-pointers with 23 a few weeks after Hanford tied the Badgers' state standard with 21. And to think they could launch against each other for the section D-II title at Selland Arena in three weeks.
