Add the Temecula Valley Invitational "Battle for the Belt" title to the list of wrestling tournaments Clovis High has won this season.
The Cougars topped area rivals Bakersfield and Buchanan to win their fourth major tournament of the season. Full final results were not available.
Daniel Gaytan, who's ranked third in the state by thecaliforniawrestler.com, was an individual champion for Clovis, beating Martin Ramirez of Elk Grove for the 112-pound title.
In the last match, Lemoore freshman Isaiah Martinez edged Redlands East Valley's Chris Mecate 3-2 in the 125-pound final. Martinez is ranked sixth at 125, Mecate is No. 1 at 119.

Selma had individual champions in Nathan Zarate and Justin Lozano while placing fourth at the 67-team event in Gilroy.
Zarate pinned Madera South's Jonathan Gomez in 2:42 in the 142-pound final. It was his fifth pin of the tournament. Lozano had an 11-2 major decision over Monterey's Tyler Edwards in the 173-pound final.
Vacaville won the title with 336.5, followed by Gilroy (249), Madera South (188.5) and Selma (187).
Central Valley Invite
Behind 147-pound champion Johnny Pedraza, Hanford West captured the team title of the 24-team event at Golden West.
Pedraza scored a 20-8 major decision over Roosevelt's Raul Abundiz in the final. The Huskies also had second-place finishers in Michael Castro (105), Esau Pedraza (142), Jacob Pedraza (154), Anthony Hicks (173) and Brandon Whitten (191).
Second-place Hoover had individual champions in Sonny Perez (132) and Jarette Suikowsky (154).
