Highlights from Jan. 21

BOYS BASKETBALL

William Stallworth had 14 points and Jordan Searby added 13 as Tulare, ranked No. 8 in the Central Section by The Bee, beat Monache 75-51.

Dupree Hall had 13 points for Hoover in its 47-37 win against Reedley.

Jaelin Avery scored 14 points and Lemoore went on a 13-2 run in the third quarter to distance itself in a 75-40 win against Golden West.

Niko Cunningham scored 20 points and Madera South continued to help set the early pace in the North Yosemite League with a 71-64 win against Roosevelt. Sunnyside joined the Stallions atop the NYL at 2-0, as Chris Jenkins scored 13 points in a 44-38 victory over McLane.

Ethan Lenox led all scorers with 22 points as Clovis North defeated Sanger 62-53. Steven Montgomery scored 18 for Sanger.

Joel Chavez scored 18 for Woodlake, but Orosi won 53-41.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Fresno Christian's Paige Armstrong-Maltos scored 18 points and nearly doubled Tranquillity's total herself in the Eagles' 70-10 victory. Fresno Christian, No. 2 in Division V, held Tranquillity to two points in the second half.

Amber Lozano scored 18 points, including two crucial free throws down the stretch to preserve Firebaugh's 52-48 victory against Mendota.
