Highlights from May 15

BASEBALL

On a day coach Chad Thornhill passed the baton among senior pitchers, Jacob Martinez, Julio Ponce, Joe Boehm and Shannon Lowry combined for a no-hitter as No. 7 Bullard closed a 14-1 County/Metro Athletic Conference season with a 12-0 win over Sanger.

Washington (29-3) set a school wins record and Adam McCurley extended his hitting streak to 23 as the Panthers beat Yosemite 4-2.

No. 1 Buchanan got homers from Bryce Barger, Brett Bishop, Brent Etiz, Matt Millar and Chris Rodgers and won an outright TRAC title with a 14-4 rout of Central.

J.D. Salles pitched a six-hitter and snapped a 2-2 tie with a two-out home run in the fifth as No. 2 Clovis West beat No. 3 Clovis 3-2.

SOFTBALL

Jennifer Mayne drove in Dom Selby in the seventh to lift Buchanan to a 1-0 win over TRAC champ Central.

Jordan Yates and Chelsea Weber earned complete game wins as Kerman swept Sierra 6-4, 9-3 and clinched outright the North Sequoia League title.
