Highlights from May 8


Blake Dunn went 3 for 4, including two home runs, drove in three runs and scored three; Jordan Thomason had a homer among four hits and scored four times; and Matt Meyer and Ryan Cox each drove in three runs as No. 10 Bullard clinched at least a tie for its fourth consecutive County/Metro Athletic Conference title by defeating Clovis North 14-5.

Kenneth Kirkman hit a grand slam and Chase Cullins added a two-run homer as Liberty-Madera Ranchos clinched at least a title for the North Sequoia League title by rolling 9-2 over Washington, the league's two-year reigning champion and ranked No. 3 in the state's D-IV.

C.J. Symonds drove in two runs and Robby Bonanno earned the win as Lemoore handed No. 5 El Diamante its first West Yosemite League loss with a 6-4 decision.

Steven Lozier pitched a four-hitter and drove in a run as No. 1 Buchanan defeated Clovis East 5-2 to remain tied with Clovis West atop the Tri-River Athletic Conference.

J.D. Salles won his 20th game in two years and Eric Karch had a home run and double in a 3-for-3 night as No. 2 Clovis West defeated Madera 7-4.

Chris Rodriguez pitched a complete game with 12 strikeouts and went 3 for 4 with a triple as Sanger beat Reedley 7-5. Eric Sanchez went 3 for 4 with two doubles for Sanger.

Lucas DiCiccio hit a three-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning, lifting Memorial to a 9-8 victory over McLane in the North Yosemite League.
