Highlights from April 24

BASEBALL

Winning pitcher Jesse Gonzales had two home runs and three RBIs, and Hanford West edged Lemoore 6-5 by scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh in West Yosemite League action.

Bullard scored three times in the sixth to beat sixth-ranked Edison 4-1 in the County Metro Athletic Conference. Ryan Cox drove in two runs for the Knights.

Blake Proctor went 4 for 5 with six RBIs and hit one of four Redwood homers in a 15-7 victory against eighth-ranked Hanford in the WYL.

Dusty Valero went 2 for 4 with two RBIs to lead third-ranked Clovis to a 7-2 victory over Madera. Ryan Andersen also drove in a run, and Aaron Ray picked up the win for the Cougars.

SOFTBALL

Junior Emily Campos had an RBI double in a four-run first and finished 3 for 3 as Kingsburg topped Immanuel 7-4.

Washington's Samantha Mendoza singled in Tori Rich in the first inning, and Kassi Workentine made it stand up with a two-hitter in a 1-0 victory over Sierra in the North Sequoia League. Sierra's Alex Abbott also pitched a two-hitter.
