Flip through an old photo album and grab your camera. The City of Clovis wants residents to recreate older photos — with a Clovis theme — for a chance to win cash prizes.
All submissions to the “Get the Picture” photography contest are due May 2.
Participants may recreate photos of landmarks, events, or portraits.
“The older photo may be a family picture taken in front of a house in 1976,” explains Karey Cha, event organizer, “and the newer photo might include the same family, in front of the same house
40 years later.”
Participants are encouraged to be creative. The only real rule is that the subject of the pictures must somehow include City of Clovis; the photos may show a Clovis landmark, school, event, business, or a Clovis citizen.
Participants may message their entry to the City of Clovis Facebook page, where it will be posted to the contest album. Photos can also be posted on Instagram or Twitter with #ClovisGetsThePicture.
All photos will be displayed on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media sites as well as the City of Clovis’ website.
The contest will be judged by a panel of community leaders.
First place will win $300, second place will get $150 and the “fan favorite,” which earns the most likes on Facebook, will be awarded $50.
