Clovis High Regional Occupational Program teacher Jay Eichmann has been named the CareerSafe Safety Educator of the Year by CareerSafe, an authorized online provider of OSHA-certified training courses. Eichmann uses the CareerSafe curriculum in his classes, which prepare students for careers in the construction industry.
Eichmann was one of 12 nationwide finalists for the award, and the only one from the West Coast. He received a trip to the National Career Tech Vision Conference in New Orleans, where he was presented with a $5,000 classroom grant. The money will be used to upgrade classroom equipment and provide his students with their own safety equipment.
