Three fires kept Fresno County firefighters busy Wednesday afternoon, the Fresno County Fire Department said.
The first fire started around 2 p.m. on the 2200 block of South Willow Avenue near Church Avenue in southeast Fresno, fire spokesman John Dominguez said. It burned four acres. Fresno City firefighters helped county firefighters battle the blaze.
The second fire started around 4:30 p.m. near a home on the 13000 block of East Shaw Avenue east of Clovis. It burned an acre and caused $7,000 in damage to a pile of material, including a car and boat, outside the home, Dominguez said. The home was not damaged.
The third blaze broke out half an hour later near Highway 198 and Lassen Avenue north of Huron. It burned 160 acres and threatened a wheat field.
